Site re-launched!!!!

A built haswell stage3 now uploaded.
These use GCC 5.2
On another note, I can run both kde-plasma and kde-next-live on this stage3 without problems.
--- If anyone wants a Plasma stage4 let me know.

Site Relaunch!!

I'm releasing stable optimized stage3 builds
These were bootstrapped using GCC 5.2 and built for
Sandy Bridge - Intel CPU 2XXX -march=sandybridge (formally -march=corei7-avx in GCC < 4.9)
also a great starting point for Ivy-Bridge - Intel CPU 3XXX
Haswell - Intel CPU 4XXX -march=haswell (formally -march=core-avx2 in GCC < 4.9)
also a great starting point for anything newer

These are exactly like the official stage3 except you get GCC 5.2 in an enviorment built from GCC 5.2 for your processor.

Just follow the instructions to install Gentoo as normal but use these stage3 files
You can find these at...
http://gentoo.awalp.net/pub/gentoo/amd64/stage3-amd64-sandybridge_gcc5-current/
http://gentoo.awalp.net/pub/gentoo/amd64/stage3-amd64-haswell_gcc5-current/

I'll also be releasing stage4 Plasma builds soon.
These future releases will be a completely blank slate, but include Plasma! (the stage4 builds)
Should run out of the box after configured just like any stage3 gentoo install.

2011-08-18 - Initial Gnome 3.1 stage4 for Corei7 released!
This is a Gnome 3.1 'stage4' built off the Corei7 stage3, so will only work on Corei7 family and newer processors.
-- To install the stage4, following gentoo install like normal, a kernel was included for building purposes but you should build your own.
This is a corei7 stage3 w/ gnome3.1. Beyond that, no extra glut.
----------- Screenshot of Gnome 3.1 Desktop!

-- After it is installed, *NOTE* root password is gentoo, test username gentoo password is gentoo.
-- After install, edit your make.conf for your video card (it was built on nvidia), and run emerge -DNuav world.
- That 'should' install the proper graphics drivers. Lastly configure xorg.conf for proper screen resolution & /etc/init.d/xdm start
If you happen to have an i7/nvidia computer, and a 1920x1200 monitor, you're already configured!
Available for download at http://gentoo.awalp.net/pub/awalp_releases/amd64/corei7_current_gnome3.1_stage4/

- Also, continued core2 & corei7 current-stage3 snapshots have been releasaed as needed.
2011-08-15 - Initial Core2 Optimized stage3 released! These contain GCC 4.5 (and upstream toolchain) which optimize Core2 just fine, and will be 'officially' stable in the near future. Perfect for a fresh install.
Available for download at http://gentoo.awalp.net/pub/awalp_releases/amd64/core2_current_stage3/

2011-08-14 - New! 20110814 Updated Corei7 stage3
Will be available for download at http://gentoo.awalp.net/pub/awalp_releases/amd64/corei7_current_stage3/
- Previous 201108013.tar.bz2 re-released, fixed a 2x file size undeleted file, also switched to tar.xz for smaller file

gentoo-current stable stage3 files customized for Core i7 Family processors
-- These stage3 builds are 'stable' stage3 builds.
-- They were built using and contain GCC 4.6 and upstream toolchain versions.
-- Optimized specifically Intel Core 7 (i7/i5/i3) type processors, any post-Core2 w/ sse4/4.2
-- Other than upgraded toolchain, are completely 'stable', just like any other stage3
The purpose of these files is to allow a stage3 install that is already optimized for Corei7 without having to upgrade gcc and remerge the whole system.
-- They will be released in rolling snapshots, as updates occur in @system.
**NOTE** stage3's are packaged as .tar.xz, smaller files: use tar xvJpf for .tar.xz instead of tar xvjpf for tar.bz2

2011-08-13 Initial release of corei7 optimized gentoo stage3

/pub/awalp_releases/amd64/core2_current_stage3/

gentoo-current stable stage3 files customized for Core 2 Family processors
-- These stage3 builds are 'stable' stage3 builds.
-- Optimized specifically Intel Core 2 Family processors, Intel's 65mm & 45mm chips ~2007-2010.
-- They were built using and contain GCC 4.5 and matching upstream toolchain.
-- Unlike the Corei7 stage3 which features GCC 4.6, optimizing for Core2 can be done just as well with GCC 4.5
-- GCC 4.5 is due to be marked stable any day, the build is completely 'stable', just like any other stage3
The purpose of these files is to allow a fresh stage3 install that was built and optimized for Core2, and ready for the future.
-- They will be released in rolling snapshots, as updates occur in @system.
**NOTE** stage3's are packaged as .tar.xz, smaller files: use tar xvJpf for .tar.xz instead of tar xvjpf for tar.bz2
